The following examples represent a small portion of my work. Although there were others involved in bringing these sites to the light of day, largely in the sites' main graphic design, most of the work was mine including development and programming, page layout and style, proofreading, and copy editing.
Extensive, efficient and useful. . . even behind the scenes
The public side of this Web site features years of press releases, tours of their facility and services, and extensive details about their products. There is also a password-protected area for employees to access logos, high-resolution product images, brochures, and several other tools to use in sales presentations and more. In addition to the sales tools, a robust application within the password-protected area of the site was developed to manage and display the client's calculated PR value throughout dozens of print and online media sources. The expansive data is then available to be grouped and sorted chronologically, by source, by sales region and more. With new data released bi-anually, the application allows the client to review the myriad details about the return on their public relations investments including what was reported and by whom. Administrative power even a detail-oriented author can appreciate
A fully client-managed Web site for a local publishing start-up specializing in bilingual fiction for children. This client is very hands-on so the site was developed to accomodate their manner of operation. The entire site is database driven with a back-end administration that allows Astakos complete control of content, from adding new books, to press releases, to changing the photo of the author, and everything in between. The site was also developed with a custom PayPal-driven checkout system to create a seamless e-commerce experience. View Astakos Publishing Web site |
One picture is worth a thousand words — what are dozens worth?
This machine tooling and prototyping facility in Beloit, Wisconsin felt that the best way to show their prospects what they can do is by simply showing them what they can do. This media-rich site is database driven allowing them to gather the production and facility images used throughout the site in an almost overwhelming collection on the Multimedia page. Presenting technical data presents technical difficulties
Finding the ideal way to manage and display technical data is not always as straightfoward as one might think. The company engineered an entirely new system of constant velocity joints to provide reliability, maintenance-free and high-angle capabilities. There was a great deal of technical information to highlight in a clean but visually stimulating way to enable Cornay to properly market to a vast array of applications and industries.
